In our program, Foundations 1 is primarily a drawing class where each student perfects his or her hand skills by drawing basic elements in perspective. The goal is to accurately render basic shapes and correctly shade them to enhance a hypothetical three dimensional environment. This is done through three projects using a cube or box, a cone and a sphere and cylinder. Shading the object and correctly projecting a cast shadow is essential. Here are some examples of this semester’s class.
